Jan K. (LRS) won the election for President! We at the Lasetien Times congratulate him on this extraordinary success!
Jan K. beat his rival Kazuko K. (ZRP) on 8 February. He won with 100% of the votes cast.
This election victory is probably the biggest turning point in the history of the LRS. Before 29 February 2024, the LRS only represented the opposition in Lasetia. Now they can shape the political landscape of Lasetia sustainably according to their ideas as the party that provides the president.
Jan K. spoke exclusively to the Lasetien Times about these ideas. He said his ambitions were closely aligned with the LRS election program, which was presented at the last regular cabinet elections.
In concrete terms, this means more democracy and less authoritarian state mechanisms.
Jan K. also places the fight against right-wing extremism at the center of the new government's agenda. During his term of office, Jan K. also wants to tackle the problem of a steadily declining population. It is not yet known what his goals are specifically motivated or inspired by socialism. However, we can assume that steps will gradually be taken to lead Lasetia away from nationalist ties and closer to socialist country unions.
Jan K. is generally considered extremely capable of fulfilling the office of President. As he has already demonstrated as Foreign Minister and recently as Acting President, he remains calm and solution-orientated despite rapid developments. Jan K. was and is an active member of our state and has been committed to it and its citizens since the beginning of his career.
Shortly before his election victory, Jan K. appointed me, Tayfun von Mittelshalbtern, as the new head of the Office for the Protection of the Constitution. An article about this is in progress.
