The President of Lasetia resigns! What happens now?

On 29 January 2024, Max von Lasetien announced his resignation as President. He is thus also withdrawing from all state affairs. The reason for this is said to be private matters. Out of respect, however, we will refrain from making any assumptions about these.

Nevertheless, the resignation seemed sudden, especially after the Central Reformer Party won the election. However, several citizens and senators of the National Council have noticed that the president has been increasingly inactive in political decisions and discussions in recent days.

Jan K. was willing to give us his view of the situation: "The development was actually almost unexpected. I sensed that a certain amount of tension had built up due to the absence of the President, which the Vice-President was unable to contain. However, I suspected other reasons behind the President's absence, but not an imminent abdication."

First, the now-former president appointed Toja von Victory as his successor until the next regular elections. But then Cosmin Bobokt von Reichslinger, a National Council (KPL) senator, initiated a motion for new elections.

Jan K. (LRS) joins in. In his final act, the ex-president then appoints Jan K., also a National Council (LRS) member, as acting president. He is now to coordinate the new elections.

We also wanted to know why Jan K. was appointed and not any other senator of the National Council.

Jan K.: "I believe that I was appointed as temporary president because Max knew that I am committed and that I can keep Latesia stable until the new elections take place."

We as the Lasetian Times would like to thank Max of Lasetia for all the work he has put into Lasetia. Without him, our micronation would not exist. We owe him respect for founding, building, and holding this nation together in hard times and in good times.

Lasetia is now entering a new era. New political currents now have a greater chance than ever before of becoming the most powerful person in Lasetia. A not-insignificant point in Lasetia's history awaits us.

The Lasetien Times will of course provide you with all the necessary information and all the latest developments in these fast-paced times.

Tayfun,
